CCTV News: China is the world's largest producer and exporter of toys, and Chenghai in Shantou, Guangdong, known as the "Toy Capital", has a global toy market share of 60%. At present, it is no longer the traditional peak export season, but local enterprises are still very busy with shipping. At this infant toy factory located in Chenghai, Shantou, the last export container of the day is undergoing intense loading operations. The person in charge told reporters that their export business accounts for over 70%. In the past, the months of July, August, and September were the peak season for factory shipments. However, this year, due to fluctuations in tariffs, overseas orders have been pushed back overall. Currently, there are daily shipment arrangements, and the peak season time has been correspondingly extended. The relevant person in charge introduced that the entire factory is still quite busy at the moment, and this year's stocking will sprint until the end of December. It is estimated that the shipment volume will be about 30% higher than last year.
This prolonged peak season for toy exports demonstrates the irreplaceable resilience and efficiency of Chinese manufacturing in the global supply chain. The reporter found in the interview that in recent years, overseas buyers have paid more attention to and favored toys with independent IP brands, and the overseas market is accelerating to become a new growth point for China's original IP. The exhibition hall in front of us gathers thousands of toys, nearly one-third of which are newly launched this year. The person in charge told reporters that this year, the trend of overseas customers' "chasing new styles" when purchasing has become more prominent, especially in the Southeast Asian market. With the continuous increase in popularity of Chinese style toys, the speed of new products developed around related IPs has almost doubled compared to last year.
The speed of new toy releases is accelerating, and the scope of overseas market expansion is also continuously expanding. Xie Weichun's company used to mainly export toys to the European and American markets. When the market growth slowed down this year, she quickly adjusted resources, increased investment in emerging markets, and further segmented and excavated different consumer demands in the existing markets, bringing new business opportunities to the company.
